Legal
Terms of use
By playing TapTheMap you agree to these terms. They are short, and mostly common sense.
Last updated: 30 September 2026
The service
TapTheMap (tapthemap.fun) is a free online geography game run by AhmedBen. You can play without an account. We may change, pause or stop the game or any of its features at any time.
Fair play
- Play by hand. Don't use bots, scripts or tools that read the answers from the site, and don't try to get around the limits on the number of rounds.
- Don't try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
- We may remove scores that look automated or manipulated, and block access from abusive sources.
Leaderboard nicknames
Nicknames are public. Don't use a name that is offensive, hateful, sexual, impersonates someone else, contains personal details (yours or anyone's) or advertises something. We may remove or change any nickname without notice.
Content
The questions, facts, design and code of TapTheMap belong to its operator. You are welcome to share your scores, posters and challenge links. You may not copy the question bank or republish it elsewhere.
Map data comes from third parties under their own licences (Natural Earth, OpenStreetMap contributors via OpenFreeMap, Mapzen terrain); see the About page for credits.
We check every question carefully, but TapTheMap is a game: facts, locations and scores are provided for entertainment and learning, without any guarantee of accuracy. If you spot a mistake, let us know.
Advertising and links
The game is funded by ads served by Google. We don't choose or endorse individual ads, and we are not responsible for the content of advertisers' or other external websites. How ads use cookies is explained in the privacy policy.
Liability
TapTheMap is provided “as is”, free of charge, without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss resulting from the use of, or the inability to use, the site, including lost scores or leaderboard entries. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the law of the country where the operator is established. Questions: see the contact page.
